Almost every household these days has a computer system, with the majority of them having two or three. Whatever your system is used for, from gaming, to work or just surfing the internet and checking your emails, you are going to want high speeds.
There is nothing more irritating then trying to load up a game or a web page and then see the computer freeze; we have all been in this situation and sometimes it can actually take as long as one hour to respond. Therefore you should always maintain your computer to make sure it is running at its peak; there are a few simple tips in which you can use to top up your computers performance.
First and foremost especially if you have a small hard drive, you should try to increase the disk space used. Every single person ends up installing programs that they do not actually need, this over time takes its toll on your system and allows down the memory processes. A quick win solution on effectively increasing the speed of your system would be to uninstall any unwanted programs and then delete all of the temporary files left over. As well as this you should delete your browsing history and stored cookies, and finally empty your recycle bin. If this has not been performed for a long period of time, then you could see a major speed change instantly.
Once the above is done you should proceed to running an error check on your computer, as corrupt files have the potential to majorly decrease the speed of your system. You should then run the defragmentation option on your system. Defragmentation does take a while to complete but it is well worth it, as it basically organises the files in a way in which your system can easily access them.
Finally you should protect your computer from viruses and spyware, although the protection software may slow your system down slightly, it is well worth having, because if your system does get infected with a virus, this could slow your system down much more dangerous level and could possibly corrupt all of your files. Viruses are very dangerous and some of them are very stubborn to remove, so you should always make sure you have the correct protection in place.
Maintaining your computer should be a very high priority, following these three easy steps will make sure that your computer is always performing at its best.
